NaPoMo, Day 9: Disillusionment of Ten O’Clock

disillusionment - w stevensAs part of my observance of National Poetry Month, this week I’m doing a series of artistic poem transcriptions. Today’s poem is “Disillusionment of Ten O’Clock” by Wallace Stevens. I had a lot of fun making this collage, and it was a cool new way for me to visualize the poem. Hope you enjoy it! There will be more where that came from.

  1. I really like the image, but had trouble making out the words on my screen (and determining the word order). Maybe I’m just a picky linear-ist, but thought I’d let you know.

    • There’s nothing picky about wanting to read the lines in order! And you’re right. I think in my lay-out-to-glue process the lines moved a little more than I intended them to…but the composition surely skewed them into harder readability, too. Hopefully whoever picks up the hard copy will be able to make it out alright!

What's the word?
